Submitting and Managing Adverts

Students can manage their adverts, and submit new ones, via the 'Adverts' section found within the main Student Dashboard. The guide below provides guidance for students on how to submit new adverts and manage their existing adverts.

Submitting a new advert via the Student Dashboard

In the Adverts section of the Student Dashboard, click ‘New Advert’ to start an application for a new advert:

  1. Select the required Advert Type from the given list
  2. Enter a title for the advert, and complete the remaining fields (fields that require completion will be marked with an asterisk)
  3. When adding images, select which you would like to be the cover image for your advert
  4. Ensure you agree to any policies/documents that have been included at the bottom of the application before proceeding
  5. Click ‘Submit’ to submit your application

Your Union may need to approve your advert before it goes live. If this is the case, you will be able to view the details of your advert whilst you're waiting for your Union to approve/decline your advert. If you no longer want to use your advert, you can delete it before your Union approves it.

Declined Adverts

If your advert has been declined, the status of your advert will change to 'Declined - Review Required'.

You can view your declined advert, and if your Union has left feedback for you, this will be displayed at the top of the page.

You may also receive an email from your Union confirming that your advert has been declined.

If you would like to resubmit your advert, you can make any changes and click 'Submit' for your Union to review again.

Approved Adverts

If your advert is approved, this will go live for 2 weeks. The status of your advert will then change to 'Active', and the expiry date will be displayed.

If your Union has auto-approval enabled for the type of advert that you have submitted, your advert will go live as soon as you submit it, for a 2 week period, and the expiry date of your new advert will be shown.

You may also receive an email from your Union confirming that your advert has been approved.

Can I modify an advert while it is live?

You can modify an advert whilst it is live if you need. This will deactivate the advert and be re-sent to your Union to review and re-approve:

  1. Find the relevant advert and click 'Modify Advert'
  2. Make the changes you need
  3. Click 'Submit' to submit your changes

The status of your advert will then revert to 'Pending Review' until your changes are approved. Once approved, your advert will go live again with the relevant changes for a new 2 week period, and the expiry date of your advert will be updated.

If you Union has auto-approval enabled, any changes you make to a live advert will update automatically upon submission, and the 2 week advertisement period will restart.

Extending an advert

Around 3 days before an advert is due to expire, the status of the advert will change to 'Active - Expires Soon'.

At this point, a green 'Extend Advert' button will appear that will allow you to restart the 2 week advertising period.

The expiry date of your advert will be updated to reflect the extension.

Can I reactivate an advert after it has expired?

If an advert has expired and you wish to make it live again, a ‘Reactivate Advert’ button will show. Selecting this will activate your advert for another 2 weeks.

Please note: Your Union can deactivate, archive or remove adverts at any time. If you can no longer see an advert on your dashboard, your Union may have removed or archived the advert. You may receive an email if:

  • One of your adverts has been deactivated by your Union
  • One of your adverts has been reactivated by your Union

Email Notifications

As well as the emails mentioned throughout this guide, you may also receive the following email notifications if your Union has enabled them:

  • When one of your adverts has expired
  • 3 days prior to one of your adverts expiring
  • When you receive the first interest in one of your adverts

How do I view who has registered interest in my advert?

Guidance on how to view and manage interest in your adverts can be found here.
