Advice Module Introduction

The SUMS Advice Module is designed to provide a user-friendly and accessible casework record system for Advice Centre staff. The module is used to record confidential advice casework and allows Advisors to keep a track of the number of open and closed cases, members advised and provides case review prompts to ensure timely follow-ups.

Most of the service user’s personal data is populated through SUMS once the Student ID has been inputted, which helps to identify the person accessing the service as a member straight away.

Within each case an Advisor has the option to record case history, advice categories, links to other cases, incoming and outgoing signposting and referrals, as well as reasons for closing the case.

Anonymous statistical data can be easily extrapolated from the Module and used to identify trends in advice areas.
