Manual SMS Requests

If you need to send an SMS to a group of mobile numbers that cannot be obtained by a report, or you need to send an urgent SMS to a smaller group of people, you can use the ‘Manual SMS’ area within Communications to do this.

  1. Enter the mobile numbers you wish to contact in the ‘Phone Number Entry’ box;
    1. Each number must be on a new line;
    2. Numbers can be inputted in various formats, examples of all of the formats that can be accepted are shown in this box prior to entering any text;
    3. You are able to copy a list of numbers directly from an Excel Spreadsheet, and it should retain the same format and paste all of the numbers in a list;
  2. Enter your message in the ‘SMS Content’ text box (maximum content length is 800 characters);
  3. If you are happy with your message and your recipients, click ‘Submit’ to send.

Notes:

• You can only send a manual SMS to a maximum of 400 recipients;

• If you believe a message has not sent, please contact the SUMS team at [email protected] before attempting the message again as SMS charges are incurred.
