Push Notifications

To Note: To ensure that this functionality can be used fairly across all organisations, please be aware that there is a limit of one push notification per rolling 7 days. This is to ensure that push notifications don’t get marked as spam.

If you have a special requirement to send more than one push notification per rolling 7 days, please let us know by emailing [email protected] and we will do what we can to facilitate this.

Please note, that your notifications will also be previewed for review, to ensure that the service remains active and available to all.

Please submit your push notifications at least one business day in advance to ensure these are reviewed in good time.

How do I create a push notification?

  1. Select ‘Push Notifications’ from the ‘Communications’ module;
  2. Click ‘Create Push Notification’ and enter the following:
    1. Title;
    2. Body – content of the push notification (max. 255 characters);
    3. Report – select the report of members to whom you wish to send the push notification;
    4. Send at – enter the date and time you wish to send the push notification.

Once you have created a new push notification, this will show on the main ‘Push Notifications’ page, listing the:

  • Title;
  • Recipients (proposed number of recipients as per the report you have selected);
  • Approved – to confirm if the submission is pending, has been approved or declined;

Approval of Push Notifications

SUMS will be notified when a new push notification has been submitted. They will review and approve the notification to ensure it is sent at the allocated time. If a notification has been declined, this will be confirmed within the ‘Approved’ column as listed above.

Once a Notification has been sent…

Once a notification has been sent at the selected time, it will then show the following information on the main ‘Push Notifications’ page:

  • Sent at – this will reconfirm the date and time in which the notification was sent;
  • Successful Recipients – this will confirm the number of successful recipients of the notification.
