When will I receive notifications?

There are a number of instances where you may receive notifications within the SUMS platform, some of which depend on your notification preferences:

  • Where SUMS has pushed a notification, such as the release of a new feature or important information relevant to you
  • Notifications to make users aware that a new News & Updates article has been published
  • The submission of a new Events Application via the Student Dashboard
  • The submission or update of a Form Application via the Student Dashboard
  • The submission of a new Associate Membership Application

Any notifications sent by SUMS will either be sent to all users, or only to users who use certain areas of the system, where the notifications are deemed relevant to you.

Other notifications relating to Event, Associate and Form applications will only be received if these are set within your notification preferences. Take a look at our guidance on adjusting your notification preferences for further information.

If you receive a notification regarding one of these applications, you can simply click this within your notifications tab and you will be directed to the relevant application for you to review.
