How do I submit wastage via the till?

In the zone you want to add the wastage to:

  1. Select the ‘Wastage’ button;

  2. Any wastage entered on the till will be displayed on the list. You will need to click the orange ‘Edit Items’ button and commit the wastage for it to be taken off the system.

How do I submit wastage via the EPOS module on SUMS?

  1. Enter the relevant ‘Zone’ within the EPOS module and click ‘Wastage’;
  2. Click ‘Create Wastage’ and select:
    1. Select the ‘Type’ from the list;
    2. Enter the ‘Wastage Date’;
    3. Enter a ‘Reason’ for the wastage;
    4. Click ‘Submit’ to log the new wastage entry;
  3. Once you have done this, select the orange ‘Edit Items’ button to add products/sale units to the wastage;
  4. To start logging products, click ‘Add Product’ and enter:
    1. ‘Product’ name;
    2. ‘Product Tier’;
    3. ‘Price Tier’;
    4. Click ‘Submit’ to add;
  5. Once you have added a product, the sale units relating to that product will pre-populate within the ‘Items’ area of the page, listing the:
    1. Sale Unit Name;
    2. SKU;
    3. Units;
    4. Unit Cost;
    5. Total;
  6. The total value of the wastage will also be calculated below for reference;

    Note: If you remove a sale unit that has been added following a product, all sale units and the relating product will also be removed. If you remove a product, all sale units relating to that product will also be removed.

Can I add individual sale units for wastage?

Yes you can, if needed you can submit individual units for wastage as opposed to the units of an entire product.

  1. Under ‘Items’, start typing the name of the required ‘Sale Unit’ and select it from the dropdown;

  2. Click ‘Commit’;

  3. Add the sale unit volume to calculate the unit cost and start adding to the total value;

  4. These can be removed if needed.

How do I add wastage reasons?

You can also create different wastage reasons (these appear on the till when you add wastage):

  1. Select ‘Wastage Reasons’ from within the EPOS module;
  2. Click ‘Create Reason’;
  3. Enter a ‘Description’;
  4. Click ‘Submit’.
