How do I create a referral code?
This guide covers how to create referral codes within the Events module and assign the relevant products to your referrals.
You can create and manage all of your referral codes via:
- the Configuration tab within the Events module
- via the dashboard of a specific event, under the Products section:
Once you have accessed the Referral Codes page for a specific event/all events, select Create Referral Code to create a new referral and add the following information:
- Name
- Code - this will be the code that users need to enter when purchasing an eligible product
- Start/End Dates - confirm the dates you would like the referral to be live (you can change these at any time)
- Products - select which products you would like to be eligible to redeem this referral. All ticket products that are live or due to go sale in the future will be available to select
Your new referral will appear within the table, confirming the name, the code you have created and the status of the referral (active or inactive based on the dates you have entered).
Click the light blue View Details button to view all of the products that have been assigned to that referral code, including the number of times the referral code has been used when purchasing that specific product.
You can modify the configuration of a referral code if needed, for example if you need to adjust the dates that the code is active, or assign more products to the referral code.
Please note: You can add and remove products from a referral at any time, however please note that if a product is removed, this is immediate and members will not be able to apply the referral code to the product when adding this to their basket.
How many referral codes can I have active at one time?
You can create and activate as many referral codes as you need at any one time, there is no limit on how many you can have active.
