Can I hide an event on my website so it can only be accessed via a unique URL?

This guide covers how you can hide an event after it has been published, allowing you to share the link to the event to selected users.

This is a useful option if you would like to publish an event to allow ticket purchases but only allow those who you choose to view the event.

Hiding an event can be done by setting the correct status against an event when it is saved.

When creating an event, you have several statuses available, including one called 'Unlisted'.

This status allows you to publish the event without it being displayed publicly on your website or the SU App. This can then only be accessed by using its direct link to view the event on your website.

Please note: The status you select will apply to the parent event - this means that the entire event and all event dates within will be hidden.

You can easily obtain the direct link to your event by selecting the 'View on Website' button that is shown when viewing your parent event (this option is only available if your event has been published or marked as 'Unlisted'. It is not possible to select this option for an event that has been marked as a draft).

This will take you to that event's page on your website, and you can easily copy the URL and share it with whomever needs to access the page and view the details and tickets for your event.

Please note: To access a hidden event you must do this by using the direct link to the event on your website. It is not possible to view a hidden event on the SU App.

Can I mark an event as unlisted at any time?

You can mark an event as unlisted at any point. You can select the 'Unlisted' status as soon as you have created the event to publish it but hide it on your website and app events pages.

You can change the status of an event at any point, so you can hide or unhide an event whenever you need.

See our event creation guide for further information on event statuses.

Do I need to hide products as well?

If you hide an event, all of its products will also be hidden as users will need to navigate through an event to then purchase their tickets.

You can still access the products by navigating through the event, or via the product's direct link if you have it.

Can I hide individual event ticket products instead?

If you need to hide a specific ticket product, and not an entire event, you have the option to do this when creating your product.

Take a look at our guidance on how to hide an event ticket product for further guidance.
