Premium Ticket Upgrades

Premium Upgrades can be created to add to your ticket products for your ticket holders to redeem at the event.

For example, you may wish to give out free drinks tokens or grant access to a VIP area of your event for those who have purchased a particular ticket.

When someone purchases a ticket that has a Premium Upgrade, their event ticket can be scanned via the SU App to confirm if their ticket has any upgrades for them to redeem.

How do I access Premium Upgrades functionality?

A specific permission is required in order to access the Premium Upgrades functionality entitled [Events] Premium Upgrades.

This permission will grant access to the Premium Upgrades section of the Configuration tab within the Events module, where Premium Upgrades will need to be created.

This will also grant access to the Premium Upgrades section of the ticket creation page where the relevant upgrades must be added to the product.

How do I create Premium Upgrades?

Premium Upgrades can be created via the Configuration section of the events module - these need to be created before you build your ticket products so that these are available to select from when creating your products.

How do I add Premium Upgrades to my ticket products?

You will need to add any Premium Upgrades to your tickets when you build you products.

Once you have added the Basic Information to your ticket product, you can add any Premium Upgrades from those that you have created within Configuration.

How does a ticket holder redeem their Premium Upgrades?

An additional QR scanner entitled 'Premium Upgrades' is available on the SU App. This scanner can be used to scan event tickets to confirm if the ticket holder has any upgrades to redeem.

In order to access the Premium Upgrades scanner, users will need to be granted a new scanner permission. Further guidance on how to grant scanner permissions can be found here.

Once this permission has been granted, the user can access the Premium Upgrades scanner to scan any event ticket. If the ticket holder has upgrades to redeem, the details of the upgrade will appear, including the name of the upgrade, the description (if this was added to the upgrade within Configuration) and the relevant icon.

If the ticket has no upgrades tied to it, then a message will appear when the ticket is scanned to confirm that there are no upgrades to redeem.

How do I know if a ticket holder has already redeemed their upgrades?

A ticket can be scanned for Premium Upgrades multiple times, and each time the same details of the upgrades will be shown.

If you are using this functionality to provide upgrades such as a free drink at the event, this can be used to confirm that a ticket holder is eligible and then provide them with a drinks token to be redeemed at the bar when they wish.
